WWF-Train Legacy Scholarship

WWF Train Legacy 2021

WWF will be providing 4 scholarships (2 full scholarships and 2 full tuition waiver scholarships) to study at the Royal Thimphu College under the auspices of the WWF-Russell E. Train Education for Nature Programme.

The award called WWF-Train Legacy Scholarship will be available to Bhutanese students to undergo a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management (4-year) programme at RTC from Fall, 2023. The scholarship competition aims at selecting students who are motivated and committed to contributing to the conservation efforts in the country. Upon completion of their studies, the students are expected to make use of their knowledge and expertise in helping the local communities.

 

Eligibility Criteria/Entry Level

Aggregate % for all streams is 65% minimum (English + three best subjects)

1.  Science students with a minimum of 55% in Biology OR 55% in Mathematics and 50% in English

2.  Commerce students with a minimum of 55% in Mathematics/Business Mathematics and 50% in English

3.  Arts students with 70% in Geography and 50% in English 

        4. Preference will be given to students from economically disadvantaged rural communities.

Applicants should register online for admission and then fill in the WWF-Train Legacy scholarship form online.

 
Documents required:
1. Copy of Academic transcripts (Class X and XII)
2. Copy of CID/Route Permit
3. 2 recommendation letters (From teachers/principals/employers if an internship was undertaken)
4. Copy of Family Tree
5. Letter from Gup (Detailing family status/land holdings/parent's income status if possible)
6. Payslip/tax certificate of parents/guardians (Optional)
7. Other merit certificates (Combine the certificates in 1-2 files maximum. Each file should be less than 10 MB)
8.  Personal Essay (Up to 500 words explaining your personal ambition, why you have chosen to study the specific course, and why you need the financial support)
 
 
The deadline for submission is Monday, May 22, 2023, at noon.
