The Ideal Location
The Royal Thimphu College campus is one of the most unique locations in the country, offering a truly distinctive destination for any style of event. Nestled in the spectacular mountains in Ngabiphu, about 11 km away from the Thimphu City Center, RTC offers a peaceful environment for holding events such as conferences, workshops, meetings, training programmes, retreats, and other special events.
Executive Centre
The Executive Centre at RTC is the ideal venue for a variety of events, accommodating groups ranging up to 150 people, with 4 breakout rooms and outdoor spaces for your activities. It also includes audiovisual equipment, wireless internet, and access to photocopiers, computers, and printers.
The Executive Center can be hired out for a minimum of half a day to a week or longer, depending on your requirements. Our affordable pricing and serene setting make it an ideal alternative to hotels.
Seminar Halls/Classrooms
For events requiring smaller capacity, our modern seminar halls/classrooms ranging from 20-100 seating capacities are excellent venues for group discussions and medium-sized presentations.
Auditorium
Our state-of-the-art auditorium offers comfortable seating for over 650 participants, front & back projectors, professional lighting and sound systems, the use of green rooms, screens, podium, foyer, toilets, parking space, and technical assistance. It is the perfect venue for holding relatively large-scale events such as panel discussions, cultural programmes, conferences, and other large functions.
Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH)
The MPH hosts indoor basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts. This facility, when not used for indoor games, is a well-suited space for events that would require mass seating arrangements. The MPH can accommodate over 1000 seats and offers an open setting for large-size events.
IT Facilities
RTC has 4 fully equipped computer labs with over 140 computers. Internet connectivity is provided through a dedicated high-speed leased line. Wi-Fi connectivity is available throughout the campus.
Fitness Centre/Gym
The Fitness Centre offers a fully functional workout space featuring the state of art equipment to support recreation and well-being.
Sports
Our excellent on-campus games and sporting facilities such as a full-length football field with artificial turf, indoor and outdoor basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts are now available for rent. These sporting facilities offer a convenient venue for one-off matches up to multi-day tournaments or leisure events for organizations.
Catering
A variety of catering options can be provided for events from refreshments and light snacks to buffet meals. To meet your dining needs, there are outdoor and indoor lounge spaces, a spacious dining hall, evening reception space, and even bonfire facilities available. There is also a cafeteria on campus that stays open until late evening.
Accommodations
Our Executive Guest House nestled in the heart of the college campus contains 6 Double rooms and 2 Suites. Surrounded by delightful greenery, and with a view of the stunning 169 feet Kuenselphodrang Buddha statue, it provides quality accommodation amenities only 20 minutes from the city. The rooms can be rented out to accommodate your out-of-town guests or as a part of your event.
Campus Tours
Visiting the Campus is one of the best ways to learn about RTC and see the facilities we offer. There are several different packages offered for campus tours. There is a basic campus tour with tea and snacks or enhanced options for a tour with presentations on an agreed topic, tea, and snacks/lunch. These programmes can be scheduled for 1 to 2 hours, depending on the type of package selected.
