RTC offers a full range of spacious and attractive apartments/flats to its faculty and staff. All units on campus are light and airy, with many windows, two balconies, and spectacular views of the surrounding forests and Himalayan peaks. All the apartments are only a short 2-3 minute walk to the academic block, canteen, faculty lounge and all other campus facilities. These apartments, with only six units per block, offer serenity and privacy, but are still very close to all other campus facilities and only a short bus or car ride to downtown Thimphu. All apartments are provided fully furnished, ready for you to move in.
In order to make the apartments also financially attractive to faculty, and to encourage the formation of a strong campus community, all apartment rents are priced significantly below comparable units in Thimphu. In addition, all units are designed to accommodate either a single person/couple/family with ample space, or alternatively to accommodate two teachers sharing the apartment (all units have two bedrooms and a separate living room).
RTC encourages faculty to consider a shared arrangement in most of the units, which lets each faculty occupy the most attractive units at a low per-person cost.
All units are offered to faculty on a first-come/first-served basis, so we encourage all new faculty or those otherwise moving onto the campus to reserve your units as soon as possible. If you would like to share a unit, please let us know your roommate preferences, and we will put you in touch with the other faculty reflecting your preferences.
