How to apply?

  1. Go through the list of degree programs and select the program you would like to apply for. Please check to ensure that you meet the minimum Eligibility Criteria 
  2. Fill in an Application form (Click here for the form) and attach a recent photograph.

  3. Mention your preferred room type - Quadruple, Triple or Double room under your stay preference at RTC (Item G of the application form). Please note that the room charges are different and subject to availability.

  4. Attach your Personal Essay (optional).

  5. Attach the signed Guarantee of Payment form.

  6. Attach a photocopy of your Class X transcript/mark sheet.

  7. For BHSEC students, attach a downloaded copy of your Class XII transcript/mark sheet. For those students whose Class XII results are not out, attach photocopies of your latest results available.

  8. Attach a photocopy of your ID card

  9. Optional: Attach copies of any certificates of merit or participation

  10. Optional: Attach any references from your teachers

  11. Pay Nu. 500 (equivalent to Rs. 500), or USD $11 as admission processing fee in cash or through Demand Draft in favor of “Royal Thimphu College”. For successful applicants, this amount will be credited towards the student’s account upon admission.

  12. Applicants must submit their Application form with all required documents  to the Registrar’s Office  at the RTC campus in Ngabiphu.

  13. Applicants can also scan the admission forms and other relevent documents and email it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Applicants who email their applications should also send a Demand Draft of Nu. 500 in favor of “Royal Thimphu College” as admission processing fee to the mail address given below. 

  14. Applicants based outside Thimphu can mail or courier your application materials to:

  15. Applicants qualified for admissions will be given three weeks time to confirm your seat in your preferred course. On confirmation you will have to pay an  enrollment fees of Nu. 20,000 which is non-refundable but can be adjusted to your semester fees.
