Sonam Yangchen- (BCom), 2012.
Initially, when I enrolled to pursue my degree at RTC, I was apprehensive about attending college. However, as days progressed I started to enjoy the experience of being a college student. I found a new meaning to learning. That is when I realized that being a student is the best time in our lives: a phase free of tension and stress.
After graduation, I landed a job at Bhutan Carbide & Chemicals Ltd. My heartfelt gratitude goes to the management of BCCL for having faith in me and giving me this opportunity to serve an organization that is, in my opinion, the mother of all factories in Bhutan. Presently, I am working as an Accounts Officer in the Finance Department.
I have been working for only seven months and already it feels like I have always belonged here. My seniors are very supportive and are the ideal mentors. They guide me in areas where I need to be extra cautious.
I would like to share a kernel of wisdom – if I may call it that – from my own experience: I really wish I had put in more effort while in college; no pun intended, but hard work does pay!
